Seaside Scavenge is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to tackle marine pollution, single-use waste and promote recycling/upcycling among communities.
Since its inception in 2015 it has ran more than 30 events across Australia and engaged with thousands of participants, 90% of which had never attended a clean-up before.
Seaside Scavenge’s truly unique concept of having a pop-up market filled with goods donated by the community, in which participants can trade in the litter they collect, has caught the attention of the public, both in Australia and internationally. In 2018, Seaside Scavenge ran its first international event in Watergate Bay Cornwall, Wales.
Seaside Scavenge is looking to remove 10 tonnes of litter by 2020 and engage with more than 5,000 participants.
